Menus that captivate and connect

Our menus are designed to look great and work hard — capturing attention, sparking curiosity, and helping customers connect with your brand. The brands that thrive don’t blend in! They steal attention and win loyalty by doing things differently — and your menu is a perfect place to start.

From concept to print, we shape every detail — fonts, colour, layout and imagery — to reflect your personality and elevate the dining experience. A well-crafted menu doesn’t just list dishes; it delights, builds brand confidence, and leaves a lasting impression.

Restaurant menu design

Menus designed for real service

We balance design with practicality — choosing the right paper stock and finishes, and building in flexibility so updates are easy when things change.

Menus are one of the most tactile pieces of print you’ll produce — something customers hold, read and judge your brand by. They need to work on two levels: practical and inspiring. Clear structure, easy navigation, and a design that reinforces who you are. Print choices matter just as much as the layout. Paper stock, weight and finishes all affect how premium (or practical) the menu feels — and how well it stands up to daily use. We can also factor in how often you update your menu, so decisions on budget, print runs and finishes make sense.

We also design digital menus for websites, QR links and email — so your menu works just as well on screen as it does in hand.

You can choose full end-to-end delivery (design through to print-ready files and production support), or we can build editable templates in tools like Canva or Adobe, so your team can make quick in-house updates when prices change, or a dish comes off at short notice.

A complete, end-to-end design process

Initial brief → Design concepts → Artwork → Print / Digital

Our process is straightforward and collaborative, taking your menu from brief to finished files. We start by understanding your goals, audience and brand, then develop design concepts that explore layout, styling and format options — including recommendations on size and structure to make your menu content easier to navigate.

For print, we can help you choose the right materials and finishes. That might mean paper stock and weight, or options like foiling and embossing. We can also explore formats that suit your venue — from classic folded menus to clipboards, menu wallets and table talkers.

For visuals, we can work with your existing imagery, commission photography, create illustration, or source and retouch stock so it feels unique and on-brand. If you need seasonal updates, we can build a system that makes changes easy without redesigning from scratch.

Once a direction is approved, we refine the artwork — this is where we’ll usually ask for your final menu content, including descriptions and pricing. After sign-off, we supply print-ready and/or digital files. We can liaise with your printer to make sure everything is set up correctly, or manage print for you. For digital menus, we’ll also optimise files for web use, keeping sizes sensible for fast loading and easy sharing.

Beyond menu design

Menu design works best when it’s part of a consistent brand. We can also support with branding and restaurant website design and build — including online menus, SEO and schema markup, and integrations like booking systems — so your customers get the same experience on screen as they do in your venue.

We’ve been working with Jane and James at Union 10 Design since 2014. We own a restaurant in Bedfordshire which, back then, had needed rebranding, including menu design and a website that was user friendly enabling us to update ourselves as often as we needed. We were delighted with the results! We have continued to work with Union 10 ever since. Jane and James are extremely informative, friendly, helpful and always available at the end of a phone or email.
